Terms of Service

Last updated: 11 October 2026

These terms are a contract between you and Formulary Education Ltd ("Formulary", "we", "us"). By creating an account or buying access you agree to them. Please read them.

1. The service

Formulary provides online practice questions and timed mock assessments for the Prescribing Safety Assessment (PSA), with marking and feedback.

Formulary is an independent educational resource. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the PSA, the British Pharmacological Society, the Medical Schools Council or the UK Foundation Programme. We do not promise that you will pass, or reach any score.

2. Medical disclaimer

Formulary is for education. It is not clinical guidance and must not be used to decide how to treat a real patient. Always use current clinical guidance, the BNF and your local policy for patient care. Questions are written for practice and may simplify real situations.

3. Your account

  • You must be 18 or over.
  • Give accurate details and keep your password secure. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
  • An account is for one person. Do not share it.
  • Tell us promptly if you think someone else has used your account.

4. Licence, intellectual property and acceptable use

All questions, answers, feedback, images, software, design and other content on Formulary belong to us or our licensors, and are protected by copyright and other rights. While you have access, we give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use them for your own study.

You must not:

  • share your account, or let anyone else use it;
  • copy, scrape, photograph, record, republish, share or sell questions, answers, feedback or other content, in whole or in part;
  • use bots, scripts or other automated tools, or try to get around limits or security;
  • use Formulary to build a competing product, or to train a machine-learning model;
  • do anything unlawful, or anything that harms the service or other users.

5. Price, payment and access period

You pay once, in pounds sterling, for access for the period you choose (1, 3 or 6 months). The total price is shown before you pay. It is not a subscription and it does not renew automatically.

Access starts when your payment is confirmed. If you buy again before it ends, the new period is added to the end of your current one. When your access ends you can still see your results and history, but you cannot start new practice.

Payment is taken by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

6. Information before you buy

The law requires us to give you this information before you buy.

  • The service: online practice questions and timed mock assessments for the PSA, with marking and feedback, as described on the home page and the pricing page. It is supplied online as digital content.
  • Who we are: Formulary Education Ltd, email support@formulary.uk. Our company details are at the end of this page.
  • Price: the total price is shown on the pricing page and again at checkout. We do not add other charges.
  • Payment: one card payment through Stripe when you order. It does not renew.
  • Duration: access lasts for the period you choose and then ends.
  • Technical needs: a current web browser and an internet connection.
  • Right to cancel: a 14-day right to cancel would normally apply to an online purchase. For this digital content it ends once access begins, which is when your payment is confirmed, because you ask for access to start immediately when you pay. See the section on digital content and cancellation.
  • Faults: digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. See the section on your legal rights below.
  • Complaints: see the section on complaints below.

7. Digital content and cancellation

Formulary is digital content that is made available to you online as soon as your payment is confirmed. When you pay, you ask for access to start immediately, and you acknowledge that your right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, which would otherwise last 14 days from the day you buy, ends once access begins.

For that reason, we do not offer cancellations or refunds once the service has been paid for and access has begun, except where the law requires us to. This does not affect your legal rights if the service is faulty or not as described. See the section on your legal rights below.

If you think you are entitled to cancel or to a refund, email support@formulary.uk with the email address on your account and the date you bought, and we will reply.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Formulary available, but we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors. We may update questions, features and prices for future purchases, and may update these terms. If a change to the terms is significant and affects you, we will tell you by email before it applies to you. The terms that applied when you bought continue to apply to that purchase unless the change is required by law or is in your favour.

10. Suspension and ending your account

You can stop using Formulary at any time and delete your account from the account page. Deleting your account ends your access.

We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, for example by sharing your account or copying content. We will tell you why and, where it is reasonable, give you a chance to put it right first. If we end your access for a serious breach, we do not refund the price. If we end it for any other reason, we refund the unused part.

11. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. That includes your rights as a consumer.

Subject to that: we are not liable for losses that were not a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach; we are not liable for loss of profit, income, opportunity or goodwill, or for business losses, because you are buying for personal study; and we are not liable for the result of any assessment or for any decision you or anyone else makes using Formulary. Our total liability to you for all claims connected with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including failures of internet, hosting or payment providers.

12. Your data

How we use your personal data is explained in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy.

13. Complaints

If you have a complaint, email support@formulary.uk and we will look into it and get back to you. If we cannot settle a complaint between us, we will tell you about an approved alternative dispute resolution provider and whether we agree to use it. You can always go to court.

14. General

  • These terms are the whole agreement between us about Formulary.
  • If part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still do so later.
  • You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to another business that takes over Formulary, if that does not reduce your rights.
  • Only you and we have rights under this contract. No one else can enforce it.
  • These terms and any dispute about them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
